Cuisinart MSC-600 Cook Central (3-in-1)

What we like: Finally, Cuisinart presents a great fully-programmable versatile slow cooker! The MSC-600 Cook Central serves several kinds of delicious dishes on your dining table --- sear, sauté, roast, slow-cook and steam ---all in one pot. What we’re really pleased is this multi cooker is the ease of uses. We found that it’s an easiest programmable one in the market. It comes with 3 selected modes, slow cooker, steamer and brown or sauté, which you can touch the control pad to let it done effortlessly. The blue LED display make easy for timer.

For slow-cooking function, the Cook Central works much similar to PSC-400 or PSC-600. It has 3 temp settings: High, Low and Simmer, which can be set automatic Keep Warm mode up to 24 hours long. While the new aluminum roasting rack works as a steamer rack, which is suitable for preparing fresh veggies or seafood for oil-free food. For recipes which require to sauté or brown, it’s handy to preparing them on the nonstick bottom on 350 degree F, no need for extra skillets.

The 6 quart size is perfect for a 4-6 hungers. The brushed stainless finish makes feel sleek and beautiful. Like other Cuisinart models, it has glass lid and stay-cool handles. Most reviews also satisfy for easy to cleanup. Plus, the company do ensures us for food-safety issues for no BPA in every parts which may contact food. The free cookbook from Cuisinart is also a plus. If you're a bachelor or family of two who prefer smaller size, the MSC-400, the 4-quart unit, is recommended.

The MSC-600 Cook Central is recommended for a best slow cooker in Real Simple magazine. It also has positive reviews from William Sonoma.

What we don’t like: We’ve found scattered downside reviews, include the lid doesn’t fit the pot snuggly. For $160 (retail price), it’s quite expensive comparing to other same types, such as Breville BSC560XL and West Bend 84915. However, most reviewers are still be pleased with fully-program and Cuisinart quality.

The bottom line: If you’re looking for a programmable multi-tasks cooker which can trusted for quality standard, the MSC multicooker couldn’t be overlook. This beautiful and versatile cooker is versatile enough to prepare several dishes at once as a slow cooker, brown and steamer.
